We are excited to host our First Annual Kathy Stermer Memorial Golf Outing to benefit Crescent Cove. Kathy was passionate about supporting the children and young adults with shortened life expectancies and the families who love them. Please join us in remembering Kathy and supporting Crescent Cove Respite & Hospice Home for kids where — like Kathy — each moment is embraced and celebrated.
Kathy began her nursing career in 1985 and for the last 12 years of her career cared for children diagnosed with devastating illnesses, many of whom she saw pass away. She was passionate about providing people with compassionate end-of-life care. She herself was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a rare type of bone marrow failure in 2018. She had hoped to some day nurse at or volunteer at Crescent Cove, but never had the opportunity due to her illness. Surrounded by family and friends, Kathy took control of her own end-of-life journey, choosing to live her life full of love and laughter, traveling, enjoying music, cooking and canning, and surrounding herself with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2021.
Crescent Cove held a special place in Kathys heart as she saw the importance of living a full day every day, embraced and celebrated. That legacy continues today with her family and friends, who are organizing this golf outing.
